My own journey through depression informs my work with clients. A good sense of humor, a 20-year meditation practice, and a grounded authenticity also help me navigate the healing process. I am a licensed MFT in practice since 2009. I am also a certified Hakomi Therapist since 2014.

I work with individuals and couples. I see my role as guide and ally in uncovering old beliefs, seeing cycles of conflict, and rediscovering closeness. I believe change happens from new experience; insight and talking is not enough. My goal is to walk with you, through insight and discovery, to a new experience of yourself as whole, grounded, and connected.

My work combines mindfulness, relational psychotherapy, attachment work, and transpersonal and somatic psychology. Emotionally Focused Therapy informs my work with couples. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma, substance abuse, mood disorders, and relational issues. I also do rites of passage work with men and am an avid climber and skier.

I look forward to connecting with you an invite you to get in touch.

“Matt is an extraordinary therapist. He is compassionate, kind, and is able to work with very deep experiences. He uses many different approaches to working with clients, but is always able to really get to what is at the heart of things.”
“Informed by the Hakomi method and mindfulness, Matt has a particular knack for understanding how to integrate experience into therapy, turning talk therapy into a therapy of change.”
